Insta360 is preparing to launch its new compact action camera, the Insta360 Go Ultra, a successor to last year’s Insta360 Go 3S. Breaking from expectations of a “Go 4” or “4S,” Insta360 follows industry trends with the “Ultra” branding for this model.
The Go Ultra presents a refreshed design, moving from the rectangular body of the Go 3S to a square shape. This redesign promises better handling, while the camera retains its hallmark portability—users can still pop it out and attach it to clothing, bags, or other gear to capture hands-free footage. Its small footprint and durable construction ensure it stays true to its role as a versatile action cam, capable of getting wet and keeping up with adventurous scenarios.

A significant upgrade arrives in video performance. The Insta360 Go Ultra now records 4K video at 60 frames per second, doubling the max frame rate of its predecessor. This enhancement will deliver smoother, crisper action footage, making a tangible difference for creators who value detail and fluidity in their recordings.
Insta360 continues to offer features appreciated by content creators, such as the flip-up display retained from the Go 3S. This is essential for vlogging or solo shooting, allowing users to frame themselves and monitor recordings easily. The company also adds useful touches like recording lights on both the camera and the screen so bystanders know when recording is underway, whether the camera is clipped on a shirt or mounted on a bike.
Buyers can expect the Insta360 Go Ultra to come in both black and white color options. While full specifications are still under wraps, the official announcement is anticipated soon—possibly at IFA 2025, expected to kick off at the end of August or early September.
With its smaller, more ergonomic design and a substantial boost to video framerate, the Insta360 Go Ultra positions itself as the ideal 4K camera upgrade for content creators and action enthusiasts who want high performance in a highly portable form factor.
