Apple’s Upcoming Mac Mini with M4 Chips to Redefine Desktop Computing

Tech Hounder Team

Apple is gearing up to launch a redesigned Mac mini featuring the new M4 chips, marking a significant update since 2010. This new model is expected to be the smallest desktop computer Apple has ever produced, adopting a form factor similar to the Apple TV while retaining an aluminum shell.

Design and Features

The upcoming Mac mini will be available in two configurations: one powered by the standard M4 chip and another with the more powerful M4 Pro chip, both codenamed J773. While the overall footprint of the device will be smaller, it may be slightly taller than the current model, which stands at 1.4 inches.

In terms of connectivity, the new Mac mini is expected to feature at least three USB-C ports, an HDMI port, and a power cable. The M4 Pro variant will support additional RAM and enhanced graphics capabilities, catering to users who require more power for demanding tasks.

Release Timeline

Apple plans to refresh its entire Mac min lineup with M4 chips over the next year. The Mac mini, along with the iMac and MacBook Pro, is set to transition to these new chips later this year. The base model of the new Mac M4 is scheduled to ship from suppliers this month, with a general release expected later this year. The high-end M4 Pro model is projected to be available in October.

Pricing

Currently, the Mac mini M2 Version starts at USD 599. While the new model may be cheaper to manufacture due to advancements in technology, it remains uncertain if these savings will be passed on to consumers.
