With more fake iPhones in the market, it’s important to know how to tell if your iPhone is genuine. Here are some easy ways to check:

1. Check Packaging and Accessories

Look at the box carefully. Genuine Apple boxes are sturdy, have clear print, and proper images. The accessories inside, like cables and chargers, should be high quality and match Apple’s standards. Poor printing or loose packaging may signal a fake.

2. Verify Serial Number and IMEI

Go to Settings > General > About on your iPhone to find the serial number. Then visit Apple’s Check Coverage page and enter the number. If the phone is real, details about your model and warranty will appear. You can check the IMEI by dialing *#06# and compare it with the number on the box and SIM tray—they all should match.

3. Check Build Quality

Apple phones feel solid and premium. The buttons should click firmly, and the Apple logo should be clean and aligned. Inspect the SIM tray and the phone’s edges; rough edges or misaligned logos might mean the phone is fake. Using a magnifying glass helps spot small details.

4. Check Software and Features

Real iPhones run Apple’s iOS. Go to Settings > General > Software Update to see if your phone can update iOS. Try activating Siri by pressing the power button or saying “Hey Siri.” If Siri doesn’t respond, the iPhone might be fake or run a fake OS made to look like iOS.

5. Visit an Apple Service Centre

If you still doubt your phone’s authenticity, take it to an authorized Apple service center. Experts can run tests and conclusively determine if your iPhone is genuine.

Being careful can save you from fraud. Always buy Apple products from trusted stores or Apple itself for the best experience.
