Comcast wants to untangle your streaming mess with its new hub, the Xfinity StreamStore—a one-stop shop for buying, managing, and discovering your favorite streaming services directly from your cable box or the web.
A Single Hub for 450+ Streaming Apps
Launched on Xfinity’s Xumo Stream Box and X1 devices (and via the web), StreamStore allows customers to subscribe to, manage, or cancel more than 450 streaming apps and channels, including blockbusters like Netflix, Disney Plus, Max, Peacock, Hulu, Paramount Plus, and Apple TV Plus, as well as over 100 niche streaming options. The service also hosts a massive library of over 200,000 movies and TV shows to rent or buy.
How It Works
Instead of juggling passwords and payment methods across dozens of apps, StreamStore lets you consolidate your subscriptions and add-ons right into your existing Xfinity bill. You can browse, add new channels, drop unwanted ones, or even pick up new bundles—all from your TV screen. This means you can manage streaming the same way you once managed your old cable packages.
Not Just a Bundle — A Streaming Broker
While rival companies like Verizon have beta-tested similar approaches, Comcast is taking a bigger step by deeply integrating management directly into its cable interface and devices. StreamStore isn’t just about offering streaming bundles (like its StreamSaver package, which includes Apple TV Plus, Netflix with ads, and Peacock for $15 per month)—it’s aiming to be your digital subscription broker, providing enhanced tools for activation, organization, and billing.
Is Streaming Really That Messy?
Cord-cutters and streaming fans have long lamented the confusing patchwork of services, usernames, and monthly charges—so much so that finding all your options in one place could be a serious value-add. Comcast is betting that enough people find streaming fragmentation frustrating enough to hand over control for the sake of simplicity, just as they once did with cable.
