The upcoming Samsung Galaxy S26 Edge has surfaced in early leaks, showcasing Qualcomm’s new flagship processor, the Snapdragon 8 Elite 2. The phone, still unannounced, was spotted running benchmarks on Geekbench under model number SM-S947U, revealing impressive performance figures and key specifications ahead of its anticipated launch.

Snapdragon 8 Elite 2 Performance Unveiled

The Galaxy S26 Edge’s Geekbench listing confirms it is powered by the Snapdragon 8 Elite 2 SoC, Qualcomm’s latest flagship chipset boasting substantial improvements in CPU and GPU performance. The CPU features an octa-core layout with:

  • Two prime cores clocked at up to 4.74GHz
  • Six performance cores running at up to 3.63GHz
  • Adreno 840 GPU for enhanced graphics

However, the test was run with the cores clocked at a maximum of 4.0GHz, suggesting even higher scores could be possible when fully throttled.

It may replace the Galaxy S26+ in Samsung’s flagship lineup, continuing the tradition of the Edge variant being a premium compact powerhouse. Despite sporting a slightly smaller battery compared to previous Edge models, Samsung aims to make the S26 Edge thinner and lighter while boosting overall performance thanks to the new chipset.
