The most significant design change for the Pixel 10 is found on its camera bar. While the size of the camera bar remains similar, the glass covering it is now larger to accommodate a third camera lens—a telephoto sensor making its debut on the base Pixel model. This addition elevates the Pixel 10 camera system to a trio consisting of a 48-megapixel primary sensor, a 12-megapixel ultrawide, and a 10.8-megapixel telephoto lens, combining elements from the Pixel 9a and Pixel 9 Pro Fold models.
Despite the upgraded camera setup, the individual sensors are smaller than those found on the Pixel 10 Pro, a deliberate move by Google to differentiate the base and Pro variants. However, Google’s acclaimed computational photography capabilities are expected to deliver superior image quality even with these more compact sensors—a hallmark that has helped Pixel’s a-series dominate smartphone camera blind tests.
The Pixel 10 features a bold color palette with Obsidian serving as the classic black, Indigo offering a royal blue shade lighter than Samsung’s Galaxy Z Fold 7 blue, Frost bringing a pale blue reminiscent of earlier iPhones, and Limoncello introducing a vibrant yellow-green option. Google has confirmed that the Pixel 10 will be announced on August 20, with pre-orders commencing on the same day and shipping scheduled to begin on August 28.
