Google has officially announced that the highly anticipated Pixel 9 Pro will be available in India starting October 17, 2024. This launch follows the introduction of the Pixel 9 series back in August, which included the Pixel 9 and Pixel 9 Pro XL. While those models were made available immediately, the Pixel 9 Pro was slated for a later release, creating excitement among tech enthusiasts.
The Pixel 9 Pro will retail for ₹1,09,999 in India and will come exclusively in a single configuration of 16GB RAM and 256GB storage. Customers can choose from four elegant color options: Porcelain, Rose Quartz, Haze, and Obsidian. The device will be available for purchase through popular platforms like Flipkart, Reliance Digital, and Chroma.
The Pixel 9 Pro features a 6.3-inch 1.5K LTPO AMOLED display capable of adapting refresh rates from 1Hz to 120Hz with a peak brightness of 3000 nits and Corning Gorilla Glass Victus 2 protection. It is protected by Corning Gorilla Glass Victus 2, ensuring durability. Powering the device is Google’s own Tensor G4 processor, complemented by a Titan M2 security chip, which enhances performance and security.
The camera system on the Pixel 9 Pro is particularly impressive. It boasts a triple-camera setup that includes a 50MP main camera with advanced features like Optical Image Stabilization (OIS) and Laser Detection Autofocus (LDAF), alongside a 48MP ultra-wide camera and a 48MP telephoto lens capable of 5x optical zoom and 30x digital zoom. For selfies, there’s a robust 42MP front camera that supports 4K video recording.
The smartphone runs on Android 14 and is guaranteed to receive seven years of OS updates, security patches, and feature drops, making it a future-proof choice for users. Connectivity options include dual SIM support (nano + eSIM), Wi-Fi 7, Bluetooth 5.3 LE, and NFC capabilities.
Battery life is also impressive with a 4700mAh battery, supporting both 27W wired charging and 21W wireless charging, ensuring users can stay powered throughout their day. The device is designed with an IP68 rating for dust and water resistance, making it suitable for various environments.
As the launch date approaches, the Pixel 9 Pro is poised to make a significant impact in the premium smartphone market in India, offering cutting-edge technology and features that cater to modern user needs.
