Google has initiated the rollout of the March 2024 Pixel Feature Drop update, introducing a range of enhancements across various devices, including Pixel phones, the first-gen Pixel Watch, and Pixel Tablets. Here is a detailed breakdown of the key updates:

Updates for Pixel Phones:

  • Improved Call Screen Functionality: Call Screen now offers additional features, such as initiating a call when the caller is silent. Users can prompt the caller to speak by tapping a button, enabling better communication.
  • Enhanced Media Sharing: Pixel phones now support capturing and sharing vivid 10-bit HDR videos on Instagram Reels and uploading Ultra HDR photos on Instagram feed.
  • Expanded Circle to Search Feature: The Circle to Search feature, previously available on specific models, has been extended to Pixel 7 and Pixel 7 Pro. This feature allows users to access information without switching apps by interacting with images, text, or videos.

New Features for First-Gen Pixel Watch:

  • Advanced Workout Tracking: The first-gen Pixel Watch now includes Pace Training and Heart Zone Training features for monitoring pace goals, heart rate zones, and exercise targets.
  • Fitbit Relax App Integration: Users can access guided breathing exercises through the Fitbit Relax app on the first-gen Pixel Watch.
  • Google Maps Integration: Google Maps integration on Wear OS provides public transit directions on the Pixel Watch, enhancing navigation capabilities.

Updates for Pixel Tablets and More:

  • Selective App Screen Sharing: Users can now share specific apps during video calls on Pixel Tablet, Pixel Fold, or newer Pixel phones.
  • Simplified Device Pairing: A streamlined process has been introduced for quickly pairing previously used devices with user accounts.
  • Google Docs Markups: Users can now add handwritten annotations to documents directly from their Pixel devices for easy feedback.
  • Improve Toolbar: The Gboard voice toolbar on Pixel Tablet that optimizes screen space by minimizing the keyboard into a the toolbar when voice input is activated.

Availability :

These Pixel Feature Drop updates will be gradually rolled out to all supported Pixel devices running Android 14 starting today, with U.S. Carrier software following next week. The rollout will proceed over the next week in phases based on carrier and device compatibility.
