HONOR has officially confirmed the launch of its latest flip phone, the HONOR Magic V Flip2, set for August 21, 2025, in China. This new model is the successor to last year’s Magic V Flip and comes with exciting upgrades in design, imaging, and battery life.
Design Highlights and Fashion Collaboration
The Magic V Flip2 continues HONOR’s signature foldable phone aesthetics with a metal frame. However, the camera design has evolved from the previous model’s asymmetric lenses to dual identical-sized 50MP sensors, likely offering enhanced imaging capabilities.
A special highlight is the collaboration with renowned fashion icon Professor Jimmy Choo, who has contributed a crystal-inspired design known as the “Hidden Starry Sky” on a sparkling blue variant that evokes shattered stars scattered across a deep blue ocean. The design also incorporates HONOR’s Parisian hobnail pattern seen in their foldable family, blending high fashion with cutting-edge technology.
Display and Performance
The foldable phone features two OLED displays:
- A 6.8-inch Full-HD+ LTPO main folding display, offering an immersive viewing experience with slim bezels and a centered hole-punch camera.
- A 4-inch Full-HD+ LTPO edge-to-edge cover display, upgraded from previous models for easy secondary interactions.
The Magic V Flip2 is expected to be powered by the Qualcomm Snapdragon 8s Gen 4 chipset, delivering robust performance. Enhanced battery capacity is another key upgrade with a 5,500mAh battery, the largest ever for a clamshell foldable, supporting up to 80W fast charging.
Camera and Software
The new camera setup of dual 50MP sensors is a significant improvement over the previous 50MP + 12MP system, aiming for upgraded imaging performance. The phone runs on Android 14 with expected software optimizations for foldable displays and enhanced user experience.
Color Options and Availability
HONOR will launch the Magic V Flip2 in four colors:
- Sparkling Blue (Jimmy Choo Edition with engraved hinge)
- Matte Grey
- Purple (marble-patterned)
- White (marble-patterned)
