HUAWEI has officially confirmed that the Mate 80 series will launch in China on November 25. The lineup succeeds last year’s Mate 70 series and includes four models: the Mate 80, Mate 80 Pro, Mate 80 Max (replacing the Pro+ naming), and the premium Mate 80 RS Ultimate Design.

Refined Design and Display

All Mate 80 series phones feature a circular rear camera module, flat OLED screens, a durable metal frame, 3D face recognition, and side-mounted fingerprint sensors. The design is both familiar and refined, retaining HUAWEI’s signature premium aesthetic.

Camera and Performance

The Mate 80 and Mate 80 Pro sport a triple rear camera setup with a periscope telephoto lens for improved zoom capabilities. Both will be available in Obsidian Black, Snowy White, Dawn Gold, and Spruce Green color options.

Memory and storage options for the Mate 80 include 12GB + 256GB, 12GB + 512GB, and 16GB + 512GB, while the Pro model adds a top-end 16GB + 1TB variant. Both support 66W wired charging.

The larger Mate 80 Max comes in Polar Night Black, Polar Silver, Polar Day Gold, and Aurora Blue colors, offered in 16GB + 512GB and 16GB + 1TB configurations.

The flagship Mate 80 RS Ultimate Design model goes a step further with 20GB of RAM and up to 1TB storage. Available in Dark Black, Pure White, and Hibiscus color shades, it features a quad-camera array with dual periscope telephoto lenses and 100W wired fast charging.

Mate X7 Foldable Also Debuting

Alongside the Mate 80 lineup, HUAWEI will also unveil the Mate X7 foldable phone, succeeding the Mate X6. Leaks suggest the device will sport a 7.95-inch ±2K COE LTPO+UTG flexible display, powered by the Kirin 9030 chipset. The Mate X7 is expected to arrive in colors including Obsidian Black, Phantom Purple, Cosmic Red, Cloud Blue, and Cloud White, featuring enhanced imaging and a slimmer hinge design for improved foldability.

Expected Availability

HUAWEI is likely to reveal full specifications and pricing details at the November 25 event in China. The series is expected to continue HUAWEI’s strong momentum in the premium smartphone segment, emphasizing design, photography, and advanced performance.
