Huawei has officially launched the Mate X7, a premium book-style foldable smartphone and successor to last year’s Mate X6. The device features a large 8-inch foldable LTPO OLED inner display with 120Hz refresh rate and 2,500 nits peak brightness, alongside a bright 6.49-inch 120Hz LTPO OLED cover screen peaking at 3,000 nits. Both screens have high-frequency PWM dimming for smooth visuals.
Under the hood, the Mate X7 is powered by Huawei’s latest Kirin 9030 Pro nona-core chipset built on a 7nm process. It includes one 2.75 GHz prime core, four 2.27 GHz performance cores, and four 1.72 GHz efficiency cores, paired with the upgraded Mali-G68 GPU. The phone runs on HarmonyOS 6 and offers configurations up to 20 GB RAM and 1 TB storage.

Photography is a highlight with a triple rear camera setup: a 50 MP main sensor with optical image stabilization, a 50 MP telephoto lens offering 3.5x optical zoom and macro mode, and a 40 MP ultrawide lens. The cameras use Huawei’s proprietary RYYB color filter technology for enhanced low-light performance. On the front, dual 8 MP cameras cover the inner and outer displays for versatile selfies.
The Mate X7 comes equipped with a robust 5,600mAh dual-cell Silicon Carbon battery, supporting 66W wired fast charging and 50W wireless charging. It boasts IP58 and IP59 ratings, ensuring dust protection and water resistance against splashes and high-pressure water jets. Durability is enhanced by Huawei’s second-generation Kunlun glass and a triple composite tough laminate protecting the foldable screen.
Available in five colours—Obsidian Black, Universal Red, Brocade White, Cloud Blue, and Phantom Purple—the Mate X7’s pricing starts at 12,999 Chinese Yuan (approx. Rs 1,63,000) for the 12GB RAM + 256GB storage model. The Collector’s Edition offers higher specifications: 16GB + 512GB for 14,999 Yuan and 20GB + 1TB for 17,599 Yuan. Sales begin on November 28, 2025, exclusively on the Huawei Mall in China. This foldable aims to compete with high-end models like the Samsung Galaxy Z Fold series, offering flagship features and enhanced durability .
