Rumors of a scaled-down version of Lenovo’s Legion Go Lite handheld gaming console have been circulating for a while, but recent developments suggest that such a device might be closer to reality than previously thought.
The Leak
The latest evidence comes in the form of a seemingly accidental slip-up on Lenovo’s official website. A keen-eyed Reddit user noticed that the FAQ section of the Legion Go product page contained information that didn’t align with the current model. Notably, the page mentioned an HDMI port and dual fans, features absent from the original Legion Go.
More intriguingly, it stated that the console comes in either a 7-inch or 8-inch display variant, contradicting the existing 8.8-inch screen.
While it’s possible that these discrepancies were simply errors, the consistency of the information suggests otherwise. Moreover, this isn’t the first time whispers of a smaller Legion Go have surfaced. Back in May, industry insiders claimed that Lenovo was indeed working on a “Lite” version of the handheld.
What to Expect from a Legion Go Lite
If the rumors are accurate, a Legion Go Lite could offer a more affordable entry point into the world of handheld PC gaming. A smaller screen and potentially less powerful hardware could lead to a lower price tag. However, it’s important to note that these are speculations at this point.
Given that the original Legion Go was released relatively recently, it might seem premature for a new model to be in the works. Nevertheless, the rapid pace of technological advancements and the competitive nature of the market could be driving Lenovo to expand its Legion Go lineup.
As of now, these are merely rumors and speculations. We’ll have to wait for official confirmation from Lenovo to know for sure if a Legion Go Lite is indeed on the horizon. Until then, take this information with a grain of salt.
