Nothing has confirmed that the Nothing Ear (3) True Wireless Stereo (TWS) earbuds will launch on September 18, 2025. The company has started teasing the earbuds’ design and features ahead of the big day.

Premium Design and Build

Nothing Ear (3)

The Ear (3) earbuds feature a metal design with ultra-slim construction. Nothing has minimized the clearance between components and redesigned the metal antenna to be flat and just 0.35 mm thick, which is the industry’s current limit for antenna thickness. The charging case is made of 100% anodized recycled aluminum with smooth curves and an ergonomic shape, giving it a premium and durable feel.

This time, the case also includes a Super Mic and a dedicated “talk” button, a new addition that may allow functions like using the case as a wireless microphone or walkie-talkie, although exact details will be revealed at launch.

Improved Features

The Ear (3) is expected to have significant upgrades such as a dual-driver system for better sound quality, advanced Active Noise Cancellation (ANC), a more natural transparency mode, and potentially longer battery life. Like its predecessors, it is likely to maintain the signature transparent design seen in the earbuds and case.

A popular user-requested feature is the addition of swipe volume controls on the earbuds, making it easier to adjust sound without reaching for the connected device.

Naming and Marketing

Interestingly, Nothing went back to its original numbering scheme after using the Ear (1) and Ear (2) names, skipping Ear (4) to avoid confusion among customers.

According to Andrew, Head of Global Smart Products Marketing, the company chose this naming to keep clarity for new customers.

What to Expect

Nothing Ear (3) aims to elevate the product experience with new engineering and user-friendly features that stand out in the industry. The official launch will provide more detailed specifications and pricing.
