Nothing has reportedly paused the rollout of its Android 16-based Nothing OS 4.0 update after initially launching it for several models including the Phone 3 and Phone 2 series. The halt was confirmed by customer support after some users reached out, though the company has yet to make an official public announcement.

The update initially began rolling out in late November, starting with the Nothing Phone 3 on November 21, followed by other models. However, some users noticed the update option disappeared suddenly from their settings. One user shared that after contacting Nothing support, they were told the update was temporarily pulled to apply an urgent fix. The rollout will resume once internal testing is complete.

Users who already received Nothing OS 4.0 can expect a patched version once the fix is ready. The company has not explained the exact reason for the pause, but it may be linked to reports of devices mistakenly showing enrollment in an Android Beta Program after the update—despite it being a stable release.

While the pause may cause frustration for some, it shows Nothing’s commitment to ensuring a stable, smooth software experience before continuing the rollout.
