One UI 8 Beta Arriving Next Month for Several Samsung Galaxy Phones

Samsung is ramping up development for its custom Android skin, One UI 8, and is preparing to roll out its beta program to more Galaxy devices next month. Following the exclusive launch for the Galaxy S25 series, Samsung has now expanded the One UI 8 beta to several other models, with more phones set to join the program in September.

One UI 8 Beta Expansion So Far

Samsung was among the first to release an Android 16 beta with a new custom skin, debuting the One UI 8 beta initially on the Galaxy S25 range. Soon after, it extended access to the Galaxy S24 series, Galaxy Z Fold 6, and Galaxy Z Flip 6. Now, the beta program is set to include a wider lineup starting next month.

Eligible Devices for One UI 8 Beta in September

The following Galaxy phones are scheduled to receive the One UI 8 beta update next month:

  • Galaxy S23
  • Galaxy S23+
  • Galaxy S23 Ultra
  • Galaxy Z Fold 5
  • Galaxy Z Flip 5
  • Galaxy A55 5G
  • Galaxy A54 5G
  • Galaxy A36 5G
  • Galaxy A35 5G

Geographic Restrictions and Rollout

Simply owning one of these devices isn’t enough to participate; users must also reside in eligible countries including South Korea, the U.S., the U.K., and India. Samsung typically releases the update in batches, so even within supported countries the update may take some time to reach all devices. Users are encouraged to regularly check their Software Update sections for the One UI 8 beta banner.

How to Join the One UI 8 Beta Program

Once the beta program is live for your eligible device in your country, enrolling is straightforward:

  1. Open the Samsung Members app (available via Galaxy Store if not pre-installed).
  2. Find and tap the One UI 8 beta banner.
  3. Follow the on-screen instructions to join the beta.
  4. Navigate to Settings > Software updates > Download and install to get the latest beta update.
  5. Download and install the update.

Important Considerations Before Installing Beta

While beta testing offers early access to new features, it’s important to remember that beta builds can be unstable and may contain bugs or incomplete features. Samsung recommends installing beta software on secondary devices rather than primary daily drivers.

Users should also perform a full device backup to avoid data loss, ensure adequate free storage, and have at least 30% battery before initiating the installation. Also, once you install the beta, reverting to a stable release isn’t simple and usually requires erasing all data.

What’s Next?

This expanded beta rollout underscores Samsung’s commitment to accelerating its One UI development and providing users with a polished Android 16 experience ahead of the stable launch. Stay tuned for more updates as the One UI 8 beta becomes available on more Galaxy devices worldwide.
