Oppo is gearing up to unveil its next-generation Find X9 and Find X9 Pro flagships in October, and ahead of the official debut, detailed information about the Find X9 Pro’s camera setup has surfaced online. The new leak sheds light on the significant upgrades Oppo is bringing to its premium smartphone, particularly in the imaging department, which has long been the hallmark of the Find series.
Find X9 Pro Major Camera Upgrades
According to SmartPrix, the Oppo Find X9 Pro will debut with a Sony LYT-828 50-megapixel primary sensor. This 1/1.28-inch sensor comes paired with a 23mm focal length and f/1.8 aperture, promising sharper low-light imaging and improved dynamic range. In comparison, last year’s Find X8 Pro used the Sony LYT-808 sensor with a slightly smaller 1/1.4-inch size and a wider f/1.6 aperture.
For ultra-wide photography, Oppo has opted for the 50-megapixel Samsung JN5 sensor, which also brings autofocus support. This replaces the Samsung JN1 unit seen on the Find X8 Pro, offering improved sharpness and versatility for landscape and architectural shots.
One of the headline features of the Find X9 Pro is its periscope camera system. Oppo has moved away from the dual 50-megapixel telephoto lenses of the X8 Pro and instead integrated a 200-megapixel Samsung HP5 periscope sensor. This camera supports OIS (Optical Image Stabilization) and 3x optical zoom, with a 1/1.56-inch sensor size and a 70mm focal length. If the reports hold true, the Find X9 Pro will be the world’s first smartphone to feature Samsung’s 200MP HP5 periscope sensor, marking a huge leap in mobile zoom photography.
Find X9 Pro Selfie Camera Upgrade
Oppo is also giving attention to selfies. The Find X8 Pro carried a 32-megapixel Sony IMX615 fixed-focus lens, but the new Find X9 Pro is expected to feature a 50-megapixel Samsung JN5 front camera with autofocus. This should elevate selfie quality and video call clarity significantly.
The Push for Photography Excellence
Over the years, Oppo’s Find series has built a reputation for pushing the envelope in mobile photography. With the addition of a 200MP periscope camera and upgraded wide-angle and front-facing shooters, the Find X9 Pro could be one of the most capable camera smartphones of 2025. The combination of advanced sensors and computational photography enhancements from Oppo’s in-house image processing promises to place it in direct competition with upcoming flagships from Samsung, Apple, and Xiaomi.
Expected Launch
Both the Oppo Find X9 and Find X9 Pro are expected to go official in October. More details on design, performance, and battery technology are likely to surface in the coming weeks leading up to the launch event.
