Realme is gearing up for the next big leap in its Neo series, with the Neo8 expected to bring a series of headline upgrades for power users and tech enthusiasts in China. The successor to the Neo7, which arrived in December 2024, may launch by late November or December 2025. Early leaks and insider tips suggest the Neo8 will be a standout device, focusing on superior performance, battery endurance, and user-centric features.

Flagship-Level Chips: Dimensity 9500e or Snapdragon 8 Gen 5

Rumors indicate Realme is testing two top-tier chipsets for the Neo8: MediaTek’s Dimensity 9500e—a variant of the high-performance Dimensity 9400+—and Qualcomm’s Snapdragon 8 Gen 5. The latter is noted for performance improvements over the popular Snapdragon 8s series, even though it sits below the flagship 8 Elite line. This means users can expect flagship-caliber power and efficiency for demanding games, apps, and multitasking.

Eye-Friendly Display: LTPS Panel Upgrade

The Neo8 is tipped to move away from its predecessor’s 1.5K 120Hz 8T LTPO screen in favor of a “more eye-friendly” 1.5K LTPS panel. LTPS technology, coupled with improved PWM dimming, is likely to deliver enhanced comfort during extended use—ideal for those sensitive to screen flicker or who spend long hours on their devices.

Ultrasonic Fingerprint Scanner

A premium addition, according to sources like Digital Chat Station, is the inclusion of an ultrasonic fingerprint scanner. Ultrasonic technology promises faster and more secure unlocking compared to traditional optical sensors, even with wet or dirty fingers.

Monster Battery: Over 8,000mAh

Perhaps the most striking upgrade is the rumored battery—an enormous 8,000mAh+ cell. This far outstrips the Neo7’s 7,000mAh battery and would cement the Neo8’s position as one of the market’s true endurance champions. With such high capacity, users can anticipate days of use without worrying about recharging, even under heavy workloads.

Additional Features and Expected Launch

Realme is expected to retain the rugged IP68 and IP69 water and dust resistance certifications, making the Neo8 suitable for outdoor and challenging environments.

While camera details remain under wraps, more information is expected over the coming weeks as the launch approaches.
