vivo has officially confirmed that it will launch the vivo Y500 smartphone in China on September 1, 2025. The new model arrives as the successor to last year’s Y300 and brings a host of major upgrades, most notably in battery life and durability.

The vivo Y500 will debut with a gigantic 8200mAh battery, up from the Y300’s 6500mAh unit. vivo claims this is the longest-lasting battery in its smartphone history, setting the device apart as a power-focused smartphone ideal for heavy users and gamers.

Another major highlight is the IP69+ / IP69 / IP68 rating, which vivo calls its most powerful waterproof protection to date. This makes the Y500 one of the few mainstream devices with such advanced durability standards.

According to tipster Digital Chat Station, the vivo Y500 will be powered by the MediaTek Dimensity 7300 processor, marking a performance upgrade over the Dimensity 6300 on the Y300.
