Microsoft is rolling out new AI features to Windows 11 PCs running version 24H2, starting with the KB5062660 update in the stable channel. These features include Copilot Vision, an AI agent in Windows Settings, an enhanced Click to Do functionality, AI-powered tools in the Photos and Paint apps, and more. While most features are exclusive to Copilot+ PCs, Copilot Vision will be available on all Windows 11 computers.

Copilot Vision, currently rolling out in the US, allows users to share their entire screen with the AI for real-time, on-screen assistance. It supports language settings in English (US) and does not require a Copilot Pro subscription, making it accessible widely.

The AI agent in Windows Settings lets users modify settings or troubleshoot issues by describing problems in natural language via the search box. This feature is initially exclusive to Snapdragon-powered Copilot+ PCs, with Intel and AMD-powered models to receive it later.

The Click to Do feature on Copilot+ PCs offers contextual AI options based on the content on your screen—such as drafting text with Copilot in Word, managing Microsoft Teams actions, and features like Reading Coach. This tool draws parallels to Google’s Circle to Search, providing helpful AI-driven actions to keep workflows smooth.

Additional enhancements include the Photos app’s Relight feature, which lets users adjust lighting on images using presets like Studio Portrait and Cinematic Glow. The Paint app gains a Sticker Generator, which creates custom stickers from text prompts, and smart object selection that isolates elements for precise editing.

Copilot+ PCs also get a smarter Snipping Tool offering ‘perfect screenshot’ capabilities that automatically crop and resize images intelligently, plus a color picker tool for editing.

Microsoft is also introducing Quick Machine Recovery for Windows 11 with this update, offering internet-based automatic fixes for common boot failures.

Although the update is live, Microsoft is rolling it out gradually, which may take up to a month to reach all users. To access these features early, users can enable the “Get the latest updates as soon as they’re available” option in Windows Update settings and install KB5062660, followed by updating all apps via the Microsoft Store.

These new AI features mark Microsoft’s ongoing commitment to integrating AI deeply into Windows 11, enhancing productivity and user experience while initially focusing on Copilot+ PCs as flagship devices for this advanced functionality.
