During its Q4 2025 earnings call, Qualcomm revealed that it will supply chips for roughly 75% of Samsung’s upcoming Galaxy S26 series, confirming that the Snapdragon 8 Elite Gen 5 will power the majority of models. This directly contradicts earlier reports that suggested a 50/50 split between Qualcomm’s and Samsung’s in-house chips.
That means only about 25% of Galaxy S26 units will use Samsung’s Exynos 2600 processor, which has yet to be officially announced. Qualcomm stated, “On Galaxy S25, we got 100%. Our assumption for any new Galaxy is always going to be 75%. That is our assumption for Galaxy S26.”
The Exynos 2600 is Samsung’s first 2nm GAA chipset, reportedly showing impressive performance-per-watt results—strong enough to even outpace Apple’s A19 Pro in efficiency tests. Despite that, reports suggest Samsung may still be facing yield challenges, which could explain the limited use of Exynos chips in the Galaxy S26 lineup.
The Galaxy S26 series—which includes the S26, S26+, and S26 Ultra—is now expected to launch on February 25, 2026, at an event in San Francisco, rather than the originally rumored January window.
If Qualcomm’s prediction holds true, most Galaxy S26 users across global markets will once again experience the Snapdragon-powered versions, while Exynos will remain limited to select regions.
