Sony appears to be gearing up for another exciting year, with two new Xperia phones reportedly in development — the flagship Xperia 1 VIII and the mid-range Xperia 10 VIII.
According to a new leak spotted by The Walkman Blog, model numbers for both devices have surfaced in a SIM database, hinting that Sony is preparing regional variants of each model. The listings reveal six potential versions for the Xperia 10 VIII — PM-1530-BV, PM-1531-BV, PM-1532-BV, PM-1533-BV, PM-1534-BV, and PM-1555-BV — suggesting a wide international release.
While the listings don’t reveal specs, reports indicate that the Xperia 1 VIII will feature Qualcomm’s new Snapdragon 8 Elite Gen 5 chipset — the same processor expected to power Samsung’s upcoming Galaxy S26 series. Meanwhile, the Xperia 10 VIII could use a chip from Qualcomm’s Snapdragon 6 series, continuing Sony’s tradition of balancing performance and affordability in its mid-tier lineup.
The Xperia 1 VIII will likely carry forward Sony’s signature 4K OLED display, tall form factor, and pro-grade camera hardware. However, many fans hope Sony improves its image processing to compete with rivals like Samsung, Apple, and Google.
Both devices are expected to debut sometime in mid-2026, following Sony’s usual release schedule.
