Starlink has clarified its current status in India, addressing recent rumors about service pricing and website availability. Lauren Dreyer, Vice President of Starlink Business Operations, confirmed that the official Starlink India website is not yet live and the company is not accepting any orders from customers in India at this time.

This statement comes after some pricing details briefly appeared online due to a technical “config glitch.” Dreyer emphasized that the displayed prices were dummy test data and do not represent the actual cost of Starlink’s service in India. The issue has since been resolved.

While Starlink is keen to bring its high-speed satellite internet to India, the company is still working to secure final government approvals before launching the service and website for Indian users. Reports suggest that Starlink plans to set up gateway earth stations in cities like Chandigarh, Hyderabad, Kolkata, Lucknow, Mumbai, and Noida. These stations will connect customer terminals to SpaceX’s satellite network.

In summary, Starlink’s India launch is underway but not immediate—customers will need to wait until formal approvals are granted and the official website goes live.
