The Google Pixel 8a Leaks, the successor to the well-received Pixel 7a, is expected to be unveiled at the upcoming Google I/O event in May. New leaks offer a glimpse of what to expect from Google’s upcoming mid-range champion.

A Smoother Display Experience

The Pixel 8a Leaks is rumored to boast a significant display upgrade compared to its predecessor. It’s said to feature a 6.1-inch FHD+ OLED display with a smooth 120Hz refresh rate. This translates to noticeably smoother scrolling, sharper visuals, and an overall more responsive user experience, especially during gaming or fast-paced actions.

The display will also reportedly offer a peak brightness of up to 1400 nits, matching the Pixel 8. This improvement promises better readability even in bright outdoor conditions.

Familiar Cameras, Powerful Processor

While the camera setup might remain unchanged from the Pixel 7a, with a 64MP main sensor, an ultrawide sensor, and a 13MP front camera, the Pixel 8a is expected to pack a major under-the-hood upgrade. It’s rumored to come equipped with the latest Google Tensor G3 processor, the same chip powering the Pixel 8 series. This promises significant performance and efficiency improvements over the Pixel 7a.

Cost-Cutting Measures and Broader Availability

To potentially maintain a competitive price point, Google might use Samsung’s IPoP (Integrated Package on Package) technology instead of the FOPLP (Fan-Out Panel Level Packaging) found in the Pixel 8. This shouldn’t affect performance significantly but could help manage production costs.

The Pixel 8a is also expected to see an expansion in availability. In addition to the existing 21 countries where the Pixel 7a is available, Google is planning to launch the Pixel 8a in several European countries for the first time, including Czech Republic, Estonia, Finland, Hungary, Lithuania, Latvia, Poland, Romania, Slovakia, and Slovenia.

Potential Pricing and Availability

Rumors suggest a starting price of EUR 569.90 (approximately USD 619 or Rs. 51,390) for the 128GB model, with a possible 256GB variant priced around EUR 630 (approximately USD 684 or Rs. 56,810). It’s important to note that these figures are unconfirmed and could change before the official launch.

Considering the Pixel 7a started at Rs. 43,999 in India, a price increase for the Pixel 8a in that region is also likely.

Overall, the leaked specifications of the Pixel 8a paint a picture of a compelling mid-range phone. With a smoother display, a powerful processor, and wider availability, the Pixel 8a has the potential to be a worthy successor to the Pixel 7a.
