The OnePlus Open is a foldable phone that launched with OxygenOS 13 based on Android 13. This put it at a disadvantage compared to competing foldables like the Samsung Galaxy Z Fold 5, which were already updated with Android 14 builds. However, after extensive beta testing, OnePlus is now rolling out OxygenOS 14 based on Android 14 to the OnePlus Open.
As with other recent OnePlus updates, the first stable build of OxygenOS 14 for the OnePlus Open is rolling out to users in India first. Users who participated in the Closed Beta and Open Beta programs will receive the update first, followed by a broader rollout to the rest of the user base. OnePlus has not yet announced a timeline for when other regions will receive the update.
In addition to the platform changes that come with Android 14, OxygenOS 14 has some notable new features, including:
File Dock: This feature allows you to drag and drop content between apps and devices.
Content Extraction: This feature allows you to recognize and extract text and images from the screen with one tap.
Smart Cutout: This feature allows you to separate multiple subjects in a photo from the background for copying or sharing.
Improved Shelf: The Shelf app now has more widget recommendations.
Enhanced security and privacy: OnePlus has improved photo and video-related permission management for safer access by apps.
Performance optimization: The update improves system stability, the launch speed of apps, and the smoothness of animations.
Aquamorphic Design: OxygenOS 14 introduces a new Aquamorphic Design theme with a natural, gentle, and clearer color style. The update also adds Aquamorphic-themed ringtones and revamps the system notification sounds.
User Care: OxygenOS 14 adds a carbon tracking AOD that visualizes the carbon emissions you avoid by walking instead of driving.
You can wait for the update or You can sideload the update using the update package.
