Apple has announced the launch of its updated iMac, now featuring the powerful M4 chip, which serves as a successor to last year’s M1 model. This new iteration promises significant enhancements in performance, claiming to deliver 1.7 times faster speeds for everyday tasks and up to 2.1 times faster for more demanding applications like photo editing and gaming. The iMac retains its stunning 24-inch 4.5K Retina display, now available with an optional nano-texture glass that minimizes reflections and glare while maintaining exceptional image quality.

Among the notable upgrades is the inclusion of a 12MP Center Stage camera with Desk View functionality, which enhances video conferencing experiences by keeping users in focus. The iMac also supports up to 4 Thunderbolt ports, allowing for extensive connectivity options, including external storage and multiple high-resolution displays. Standard configurations come with 16GB of unified memory, which can be upgraded to 32GB, ensuring smooth multitasking and performance.

The specifications of the new iMac include a high-resolution display (4480×2520 pixels), a robust M4 chip with an 8-core or 10-core CPU and a 10-core GPU, and support for hardware-accelerated ray tracing. Storage options range from 256GB to 2TB, and it runs on the latest macOS Sequoia operating system.

The iMac is available in several vibrant colors—green, yellow, orange, pink, purple, blue, and silver—and is open for pre-orders starting October 28, with availability in stores beginning November 8.

John Ternus, Apple’s Senior Vice President of Hardware Engineering, emphasized that this new iMac is designed not just for families and home users but also for entrepreneurs who require powerful performance in a sleek design. With its advanced features and improved capabilities, the new iMac aims to redefine productivity and creativity for its users.
