Dolby Laboratories has launched India’s first Dolby Cinema at City Pride, Kharadi, Pune, marking a major milestone for premium movie experiences in the country. The 310-seat auditorium opens to the public on July 4, 2025, with “Jurassic World Rebirth” as its inaugural screening. Tickets are available through BookMyShow, and further offers and previews are expected for early moviegoers.

Dolby Cinema at City Pride integrates two of Dolby’s flagship technologies: Dolby Vision and Dolby Atmos. Dolby Vision employs a dual 4K laser projection system, delivering exceptional brightness, clarity, and color accuracy for both 2D and 3D content. This technology is designed to reveal lifelike depth and detail, ensuring audiences see films as the creators intended. Complementing the visuals, Dolby Atmos provides immersive, multidimensional sound that flows around and above the audience, enveloping viewers in the story and enhancing emotional impact.

The auditorium itself is engineered for maximum comfort and engagement, featuring dynamic lighting, premium seating, unobstructed sightlines, and a curved wall-to-wall-to-ceiling screen. Every design element aims to minimize distractions and ensure every seat offers a “best seat in the house” experience.

Pune is the first Indian city to host a Dolby Cinema, but this is just the beginning. Dolby has announced plans for five more locations across India: LA Cinemas in Trichy, AMB Cinemas in Bengaluru, Allu Cineplex in Hyderabad, EVM Cinemas in Kochi, and G Cineplex in Ulikkal. Globally, more than 740 theatrical features have been released or confirmed for release in Dolby Vision and Dolby Atmos, reflecting strong content support for the format.

Michael Archer, Vice President of Worldwide Cinema Sales and Partner Management at Dolby Laboratories, called the launch a pivotal moment for India’s entertainment sector, emphasizing Dolby’s commitment to advancing cinematic storytelling and delivering extraordinary experiences for Indian audiences.
