Samsung has unveiled the Galaxy Watch8 and Galaxy Watch8 Classic in India, expanding its wearable lineup alongside the Galaxy Z Flip7 series. The new smartwatches focus on advanced health tracking, AI-powered features, and a sleeker, thinner design aimed at all-day comfort and usability.
Design and Display
The Galaxy Watch8 series adopts the cushion design first seen in the Watch Ultra, now in the thinnest profile yet—11% thinner than previous models, with the Watch8 measuring just 8.6mm thick. The Watch8 comes in 40mm and 44mm sizes (Graphite, Silver), while the Watch8 Classic features a 46mm case (Black, White) with a signature rotating bezel for a traditional look. Both models use a Super AMOLED display with up to 3,000 nits peak brightness for excellent outdoor visibility, protected by Sapphire Crystal glass.
Performance and Battery
Both smartwatches are powered by the new 3nm Exynos W1000 processor, paired with 2GB RAM and 32GB storage (64GB on Classic), ensuring smooth performance and efficient multitasking. The battery supports fast wireless charging, with the 44mm Watch8 offering a 435mAh battery and the 40mm version a 325mAh battery. The Classic has a 445mAh battery.
Health and Fitness Features
- Advanced Sleep Tracking & Coaching: Includes circadian rhythm-based Bedtime Guidance and sleep apnea detection.
- Vascular Load Monitoring: Assesses stress on the vascular system during sleep.

Software and AI
The Galaxy Watch8 series is the first to feature Google’s Gemini AI assistant, enabling hands-free voice commands and multitasking. The watches run on Wear OS 6 with One UI 8 Watch, offering new Multi-Info Tiles, a Now Bar, and updated notifications optimized for round displays.
