Vi has launched its 5G services in Sonipat, Haryana, expanding its ongoing 5G rollout across 23 cities and 17 priority telecom circles where it holds 5G spectrum. Vi users in Sonipat with 5G-enabled devices can access the new 5G network starting July 25, 2025. To attract users, Vi is offering unlimited 5G data on plans starting at Rs. 299 as an introductory offer.
The rollout includes advanced infrastructure deployment in partnership with Nokia, featuring energy-efficient equipment and AI-powered Self-Organizing Networks (SON) that automatically optimize network performance. Vi has also upgraded its 4G network across Haryana to improve coverage, increase speeds, and enhance the overall user experience.
Specifically for Haryana, Vi has:
- Deployed 900 MHz spectrum on more than 1,500 sites, including Sonipat and other key locations such as Panipat, Bhiwani, Rewari, Palwal, and others.
- Doubled the capacity on over 1,200 sites from 5 MHz to 10 MHz.
- Upgraded its 2100 MHz spectrum capacity from 10 MHz to 15 MHz on over 1,900 sites.
- Installed more than 950 new sites across the state.
Rahul Joshi, Business Head for Punjab, Haryana, HP & JK at Vodafone Idea, highlighted that these network enhancements are vital for delivering stronger indoor coverage, superior call quality, and faster data speeds via Vi’s GIGAnet. The company remains committed to expanding its 5G footprint in Haryana as 5G handset adoption grows.
Looking forward, Vi plans to launch 5G services next in Pune, Nashik, and Aurangabad as part of its continued 5G rollout across India’s priority circles.
