Samsung is preparing to expand its One UI 8 beta program to a broader range of Galaxy devices starting August 11, 2025. Initially, the beta will be available for the Galaxy S24 series, Galaxy Z Fold 6, and Galaxy Z Flip 6 in key markets including the U.S., U.K., India, and South Korea. Over the subsequent weeks, the update will extend to additional devices such as the Galaxy S23 series, Galaxy Z Fold 5, Galaxy Z Flip 5, Galaxy Tab S10 series, and more budget-friendly models like the Galaxy A36 5G and Galaxy A35 5G. Samsung users interested in testing the beta can sign up through the Samsung Members app.

This latest version of One UI 8 is a significant step forward toward making Samsung’s devices smarter and more intuitive. A major highlight is the integration of multimodal AI features that allow users to interact using a combination of voice commands, touch, images, and text input. These improvements are designed to make using Galaxy devices feel more natural and helpful for day-to-day tasks.

However, Samsung’s expansion hasn’t been without challenges. Testing for One UI 8 on the Galaxy S25 series was temporarily paused due to stability issues, but the company has continued the rollout for older devices smoothly, demonstrating confidence in the update’s readiness.

Alongside smartphones and tablets, Samsung is also set to extend One UI 8 Watch software to more of its smartwatches later this year. This watch-specific update, already available on the Galaxy Watch 8, includes design enhancements and new health tracking features, though the exact models slated for the update remain unconfirmed.

Compared to last year’s more cautious One UI 7 beta rollout, Samsung is now pushing beta builds earlier and more widely—keeping pace with major competitors like Google and Apple. Google continues to release Android 16 betas for Pixel devices ahead of stable releases, and Apple is advancing its iOS and iPadOS 26 betas on schedule. This trend towards faster and more frequent software updates across the industry benefits users eager to experience new features sooner.

For Samsung Galaxy owners, the success of One UI 8 will ultimately depend on how useful and easy-to-use its new features prove to be. The expanded beta offers a great opportunity for Galaxy fans to explore the innovations firsthand and decide if the update improves their everyday experience.

Are you excited to try One UI 8 on your Samsung Galaxy? Many will be eager to test the new AI-powered interface, while others may prefer to wait for a stable public release. Regardless, Samsung’s wide beta program marks an ambitious push to enhance the intelligence and usability of their devices in 2025.
