Nothing has officially begun teasing its next-generation flagship Ear (3) True Wireless Stereo (TWS) earbuds, which are set to launch as the successor to last year’s Nothing Ear. The company, known for its unique transparent design language, is once again refining its product lineup while sticking closer to user feedback on naming and consistency.
Back to Clear Naming
After switching to the simplified Ear branding for the 2024 model, Nothing has now confirmed that the upcoming earbuds will be called Ear (3). According to Andrew, Head of Global Smart Products Marketing at Nothing, skipping straight to Ear (4) would have created unnecessary confusion for new customers. “We landed on the solution that brings the most clarity and consistency,” he said, explaining the return to the numerical scheme that began with the Ear (1) and Ear (2).
Expected Features and Upgrades
The Nothing Ear (3) is expected to bring a noticeable hardware upgrade with the introduction of a dual-driver system, a feature traditionally seen in high-end TWS models. Alongside this, the earbuds are rumored to feature an improved Active Noise Cancellation (ANC) system as well as a more natural transparency mode for real-world awareness without distortion.
Battery life improvements are also anticipated, which would address user feedback from the earlier models. Another long-requested addition could also arrive—the inclusion of swipe-based volume controls directly on the earbuds, adding to the ease of use.
Design Consistency
True to Nothing’s design philosophy, the Ear (3) is expected to continue with the transparent design language for both earbuds and charging case. This distinct visual identity has become a hallmark for the company’s accessories lineup, helping them stand out in the crowded TWS market.
Launch Timeline
The Nothing Ear (3) is expected to launch in late September or early October 2025. More details around pricing, specifications, and availability are likely to emerge in the coming weeks as the launch window nears.
