Samsung’s XR Device and Tri-Fold Smartphone Won’t Debut at September Event

Samsung has delayed the launch of its highly anticipated XR headset and first tri-fold smartphone. The XR headset, originally expected to debut on September 29, will now be unveiled on October 21, with availability details yet to be confirmed. The delay is reportedly due to internal marketing strategy adjustments and quality assurance processes. Priced at around 2 million Korean Won (about $1,140), the headset aims to compete with Apple’s Vision Pro and Meta Quest 3 but at a more affordable price.

The tri-fold smartphone, initially expected to launch alongside the XR headset at the September event, will now arrive later, likely in late October or November. Samsung is also developing XR glasses in collaboration with Google, expected to launch early next year, possibly alongside the Galaxy S26 series.

These delays mean Samsung fans will have to wait a little longer for these innovative devices, which may initially be exclusive to Korea and China. Samsung plans a polished product launch to make a significant impact in the competitive XR and foldable market.
