Vivo is making a big change by launching OriginOS 6 around the world, replacing its old Funtouch OS on phones outside China. OriginOS 6, based on Android 16, will be unveiled in China on October 10, 2025, and promises a smoother, more natural user experience with a new “Comfort Engineering” design.
The new OriginOS 6 will bring a revamped lock screen with transparent designs and smart clock features that change based on lighting. Until now, OriginOS was only available in China, while other countries used Funtouch OS, which was simpler and less customizable.
The upcoming Vivo X300 series and iQOO 15 smartphones will be the first to come with OriginOS 6 pre-installed. Vivo has already started the preview registration from September 29, hinting that the global roll-out is near.
