A new leak suggests Samsung is finally stepping up its charging game with the upcoming Galaxy S26 Ultra. The flagship is rumored to feature 60W fast charging, an upgrade from the Galaxy S25 Ultra’s 45W limit — but what’s more interesting is how it maintains speed over time.

According to reliable tipster Chunvn8888, Samsung’s new PPS (Programmable Power Supply) solution will begin charging at around 55W from 0–15%, and then continue at 45W until about 70%. This means the S26 Ultra could sustain higher wattage longer, offering faster real-world charging compared to its predecessor, which quickly dropped below 40W as temperatures rose.

Samsung’s current 45W implementation barely sustains peak speeds beyond the initial minutes, causing noticeably slower top-ups. If the new 60W system holds steady as claimed, users could see meaningful improvements — especially during quick mid-day charges.

While most Android competitors already boast 65W to 120W charging speeds, Samsung has remained conservative in this area. The new approach could finally close that gap, at least for its Ultra model.

It’s still unclear if the Galaxy S26 and S26+ will receive similar charging upgrades or remain at 25W and 45W, respectively. The Galaxy S26 series is expected to debut in early 2026, so more details should surface soon.
