Google has integrated its advanced AI image editing model, Nano Banana, into Google Lens and NotebookLM, significantly enhancing creative and visualization capabilities for users. Previously available only in the Gemini app, Nano Banana now empowers users to capture and transform photos directly in Google Lens by simply selecting the new “Create” mode in the Google app. This feature, currently rolling out in the US and India, allows for instant image reimagination and customization through prompts, including style transformations like watercolor, papercraft, anime, and more.

In NotebookLM, Nano Banana upgrades the Video Overviews feature, enabling automatic generation of high-quality, contextual illustrations across six new visual styles. Users can choose between two video formats: “Explainer” for comprehensive insights and “Brief” for quick overviews. This creative enhancement helps make complex documents easier to understand and more engaging by combining narrated slideshows with AI-generated visuals. Currently releasing to Pro users, the update will soon be available to all NotebookLM users.
