HONOR has officially announced the Magic V Flip 2 in China today, ahead of its much-anticipated global unveiling in London next week. The second-generation clamshell foldable not only pushes hardware innovation but also arrives with a fashion-forward special edition designed by Professor Jimmy Choo.
Slim Yet Powerful Foldable with a Huge Battery
The Magic V Flip 2 packs an impressive 5,500mAh battery — remarkable for a foldable device that’s just 6.9mm thick when unfolded and 15.5mm when folded. This makes it one of the slimmest foldables in its category, despite housing one of the largest batteries seen in this form factor. For comparison, HONOR’s earlier Magic V5 offered a 5,820mAh unit.
Camera Powerhouse with 200MP Sensor
HONOR has equipped the Magic V Flip 2 with a 200-megapixel primary camera, paired with a 50MP ultrawide lens and a 50MP front-facing camera for selfies. This makes it one of the most camera-centric foldables on the market, challenging traditional slab flagships in imaging capabilities.
Dual Displays with Record-Breaking Brightness
The foldable features a 6.82-inch OLED main display and a 4-inch OLED cover display, both running at 120Hz refresh rate. Brightness levels are among the highest we’ve seen:
- Main display: up to 5,000 nits peak brightness
- Cover display: up to 3,600 nits peak brightness
The cover screen is fully functional, supporting apps and quick interactions without requiring users to unfold the phone.
Performance and Durability
The Magic V Flip 2 runs on the Snapdragon 8 Gen 3 chipset. While technically not the latest processor, it remains a highly capable platform for multitasking, gaming, and AI-driven features.
Durability is also a highlight, as the device carries both IP58 and IP59 certifications for dust and water resistance — matching competitors like the Samsung Galaxy Z Flip 7.
Designed to be Fashion-Forward: The Jimmy Choo Edition
In a unique crossover between fashion and tech, HONOR partnered with Professor Jimmy Choo Yeang Keat OBE to design a special limited Jimmy Choo edition of the Magic V Flip 2.
Inspired by the subtle shimmer of crystals, the limited edition features crushed stardust detailing across a deep blue finish. HONOR describes the design as “a sparkling dream with each fold” — highlighting the brand’s intention to make its foldables fashion statements as much as they are tech marvels.
Availability
The HONOR Magic V Flip 2 will officially be available starting August 28, 2025 in China. Global availability details are expected to be confirmed at the HONOR Magic V5 global launch event in London next week.
