HONOR Unveils Porsche Design Magic6 RSR and Magic6 Ultimate

HONOR, the renowned smartphone brand, recently made waves with the launch of two cutting-edge smartphones in China – the HONOR Magic6 RSR Porsche Design and the Magic6 Ultimate. These devices mark a significant leap in smartphone technology, boasting top-tier features and innovative design elements.

Design and Dimensions

The HONOR Magic6 RSR Porsche Design stands out with its distinctive hexagonal camera setup on the back, while the Magic6 Ultimate features a unique square-ish camera island. Both models share similar internals with the regular HONOR Magic6 Pro. The Porsche Design model sports a glass hexagonal camera island, while the Ultimate model comes with a vegan leather backplate featuring a vertical line for enhanced grip. Both devices measure 162.5 x 75.8 x 8.9mm, with the Porsche Design weighing 237 grams and the Ultimate weighing 227 grams.

Display and Camera

The smartphones feature a stunning 6.8-inch Dual-Layer OLED Tandem Display with a pill-shaped camera cutout, offering a resolution of 2800 x 1280 pixels and a refresh rate of up to 120Hz. The display is Dolby Vision certified and protected by HONOR Diamond Giant Rhino Glass. The rear camera setup includes a powerful 50MP Super Dynamic Falcon Camera, a groundbreaking 180MP periscope telephoto camera, and a 50MP ultrawide unit. On the front, users can enjoy a high-quality 50MP ultrawide camera and a 3D ToF sensor for advanced facial scanning.

Performance and Battery

Under the hood, both devices are powered by the Snapdragon 8 Gen 3 SoC, coupled with ample memory configurations – 24GB of RAM and 1TB of storage for the Magic6 RSR | Porsche Design, and 16GB of RAM with either 512GB or 1TB of storage for the Magic6 Ultimate Edition. This smartphone is IP68 certified for water and dust resistance and feature anti-scratch NanoCrystal Shield protection. A robust 5,600mAh silicon-carbon battery fuels the devices, supporting fast charging technologies like HONOR SuperCharge tech up to 80W wired Type-C charging and 66W wireless charging.

Additional Features

Both devices offer DTS:X Ultra Sound Effects, stereo speakers, advanced connectivity features like Bluetooth 5.3, NFC, support for 5G networks, dual nano SIM card slots, and exclusive dual-directional satellite communication in the Magic6 Ultimate Edition. The software experience is driven by MagicOS 8.0 based on Android 14.

Pricing and Availability

The HONOR Magic6 RSR | Porsche Design is priced at CNY9,999 (approximately $1,389) and comes in Agate Gray and Iceberry Pink colors. It will be available outside China starting from Q2, 2024. On the other hand, the HONOR Magic6 Ultimate Edition is priced at CNY6,999 (around $970) for the base variant (16GB RAM + 512GB) and CNY7,699 (about $1,070) for the higher configuration (16GB RAM + 1TB). Both smartphones are set to be released on March 22nd.

In addition to these impressive smartphones, HONOR has also introduced the MagicBook Pro 16 in China at CNY6,199 (approximately $972), scheduled for global launch in Q2, 2024.
