HTC Corporation has introduced the VIVE Eagle, a lightweight and stylish AI-powered wearable eyewear designed for daily use. Weighing under 49 grams with a minimal frame design and equipped with ZEISS sun lenses offering UV400 protection, the glasses promise both comfort and eye safety with adjustable nose pads and ergonomically contoured temples.
Key features of the HTC VIVE Eagle include:
- A 12MP ultra-wide camera capable of capturing high-resolution photos (3024×4032) and videos (1512×2016 at 30fps).
- Open-ear audio system with large drivers and virtual bass delivering spatial sound while keeping ambient noise audible.
- Integration with HTC’s VIVE AI voice assistant, compatible with OpenAI GPT (beta) and Google Gemini AI models, enabling hands-free natural interaction through voice commands. Users can take photos, record reminders, take notes, get dining recommendations, or translate menus without looking at a screen.
- Real-time translation in 13 languages, including Arabic, Chinese, English, French, German, Italian, Japanese, Portuguese, Spanish, Korean, Thai, and Turkish. The glasses convert captured content into spoken audio without needing additional apps.

The VIVE Eagle runs on a Qualcomm Snapdragon AR1 Gen 1 chipset with 4GB RAM and 32GB storage. It is powered by a 235mAh battery, supporting up to 36 hours of standby and around 4.5 hours of continuous music playback. Magnetic fast charging can restore roughly 50% power within 10 minutes.
Privacy and security are emphasized, with local data storage, AES-256 encryption, a capture LED to signal photo/video recording, and auto-disable recording when the glasses are removed or the LED is blocked. The VIVE AI system is pending ISO 27001 and 27701 certification.

The wireless connectivity includes Wi-Fi 6E and Bluetooth 5.3, and the glasses support iOS 17.6+ and Android 10+ devices. The device is IP54 rated for dust and water resistance.
The VIVE Eagle will be available for pre-order from August 14 to 31, 2025, via the official VIVE store, with retail sales starting on September 1, 2025, through select Taiwan Mobile plans. The price is set at NT$15,600 (approximately USD 521 or Rs. 45,525). The glasses come in four colors: Berry, Black, Coffee, and Grey, and include sun lenses, a charging cable, a case, and two years of VIVE AI Plus service. The initial launch is limited to Taiwan, with fittings available at designated optical and mobile stores.
