Insta360 continues to push the limits of compact camera technology with its latest launch—the GO Ultra, a powerful addition to its popular pocket-sized GO series. The GO Ultra offers improved video performance, a larger sensor, and versatile mounting options, all while maintaining a surprisingly small and lightweight form factor.
Compact Yet Powerful Design
The GO Ultra introduces a shift from the pill-shaped design of its predecessors to a more compact square-shaped body, measuring just 1.8 inches on each side and weighing 53 grams—about 14 grams heavier than the GO 3S. When docked in its case, which also functions as a charger and preview screen, the total weight is still a manageable 110 grams, much lighter than competitors like DJI Osmo Action 5 Pro and even Insta360’s own Ace Pro 2.

Bigger Sensor and Enhanced Performance
The camera features a 1/1.28-inch sensor, which is more than twice the size of the GO 3S sensor, combined with a new 5nm chip and an ambient light sensor. This hardware upgrade allows the GO Ultra to deliver superior low-light video and smoother overall performance.
The GO Ultra supports 4K video recording at 60fps, with an “Active HDR” mode available at 4K 30fps. For slow-motion enthusiasts, it can record at 240fps in 1080p resolution. Additionally, still photos can be captured at an impressive 50MP resolution with RAW support for advanced editing.
Battery Life and Waterproofing
Powering the camera is a 500mAh battery that lasts up to 70 minutes on a single charge. When paired with the Action Pod accessory, the battery life can be extended to approximately 200 minutes at lower recording settings. The device is waterproof up to 33 feet, enabling users to capture underwater footage without additional housing.
Flexible Mounting Options and Software Features
Insta360 places great emphasis on versatile mounting solutions. The GO Ultra is compatible with an upgraded magnetic pendant for chest mounting, sticky tabs, and a special hat clip designed for kids. Its magnetic back enables it to attach directly to metal surfaces for creative shooting angles.
On the software front, the Insta360 app continues to offer robust editing options, HDR modes, and even fitness data overlays sourced from apps like Strava or paired smartwatches, enhancing the usability beyond just video and photo capture.

The Insta360 GO Ultra is available starting August 21, 2025, priced at $449.99 for the Standard Bundle, which includes the camera, magnetic mounts, a lens guard, and a safety cord.
