YouTube is now letting millions of creators add multiple audio tracks to their videos, so viewers worldwide can watch in their own language. This feature started as a test two years ago with creators like MrBeast and Jamie Oliver, and now it’s available to many more.
When creators add multi-language audio, they see bigger audiences and more watch time. On average, over 25% of watch time comes from people watching videos in languages different from the original. For example, Jamie Oliver’s channel tripled its views after adding dubbed audio tracks. Mark Rober uploads about 30 language versions for his videos, reaching fans all over the world.
The audio is helped by YouTube’s AI-powered dubbing tool that uses Google’s Gemini technology. It keeps the creator’s original tone and emotion, making the dubbed versions sound natural.
YouTube is also testing multi-language thumbnails, which change the video preview image based on the viewer’s language. This helps creators connect better with viewers around the world and makes the videos more appealing.
This new update helps creators reach more people globally without needing to make separate channels for different languages. It makes YouTube videos easier to enjoy for everyone, no matter where they live or what language they speak.
The rollout is happening over the next few weeks, so many creators will soon get these new tools to grow their audiences worldwide.
