London-based tech brand Nothing has unveiled its first student-driven innovation competition in India, called the Nothing Incubator. This initiative aims to spotlight India’s emerging young talent and further establish the nation as a powerhouse in the global technology ecosystem.
A Platform to Inspire Bold Ideas
Far more than just a contest, the Nothing Incubator is crafted as a dynamic platform encouraging students to rethink technology and creativity under the resonant theme, “Making Tech Fun Again.” The initiative seeks to harness fresh, unconventional ideas that can make a tangible impact and showcase India’s growing prowess on the international tech stage.
Who Can Participate?
The competition is open exclusively to full-time undergraduate and postgraduate students enrolled in courses such as BE/BTech, dual degrees, MBA/PGDM, and allied disciplines. Teams composed of 1 to 3 members from the same institution are invited to participate, with a preference for mixed-discipline collaboration to foster versatile solutions.
More than 60 prestigious institutions across India are eligible to join, including IIM Ahmedabad, IIT Madras, IIT Delhi, IIT Bombay, BITS Pilani, FMS Delhi, XLRI Jamshedpur, and SPJIMR Mumbai.
Competition Structure
The challenge unfolds across three stages:
- Round 1: Idea Submission (Now Open)
Teams are required to submit a compelling single-slide pitch summarising their innovative concept. - Round 2: Strategic Roadmap
Shortlisted teams will craft a three-year vision and go-to-market strategy to expand their ideas into potential ventures. - Grand Finale
Finalists will present a live, three-minute pitch before a panel comprising industry veterans, venture capitalists, and startup mentors.
Exciting Rewards and Opportunities
The winner of the Nothing Incubator will receive a cash prize of ₹2 lakh, a winner’s certificate, and the latest Nothing Phone (3). Runners-up will be awarded Nothing products and certificates to recognize their achievement.
Beyond the prizes, exceptional finalists may also be considered for career opportunities within Nothing, underscoring the company’s commitment to nurturing future tech leaders.
