Photography apps get a boost with the new TrueLens Engine, providing a more intuitive camera interface and enhanced gallery features. Additionally, Nothing OS 4.0 introduces user-controlled AI transparency tools, including an AI usage dashboard and status hints, putting users in charge of AI behaviors. General enhancements improve lock screen responsiveness, brightness controls, as well as Bluetooth and Wi-Fi connectivity.

The update will enter an open beta soon, offering an early look at the Android 16-based system. However, Nothing Phone (1) will not receive OS 4.0 but will continue to get security updates through 2026.

Overall, Nothing OS 4.0 promises a sharper, smarter, and more user-friendly experience for Nothing’s smartphone users.
