Nothing, has recently launched the Nothing Phone (2a) Plus in India, building upon the success of its predecessor, the Nothing Phone (2a). This new model boasts several key upgrades, including a faster processor, improved camera capabilities, and faster charging speeds, while retaining the distinctive Glyph Interface design that has become synonymous with the Nothing brand.
Specifications and Features
The Nothing Phone (2a) Plus features a 6.7-inch Full HD+ AMOLED display with a 120Hz refresh rate and a peak brightness of 2160 nits, protected by Corning Gorilla Glass 5. Powering the device is the latest MediaTek Dimensity 7350 Pro chipset, which offers a 10% performance boost over the Dimensity 7200 Pro used in the previous model. The phone is available in two RAM configurations: 8GB and 12GB, both with 256GB of internal storage.
In the camera department, the Nothing Phone (2a) Plus retains the dual 50MP rear camera setup from its predecessor, but upgrades the front-facing camera to a 50MP sensor. This change is expected to enhance selfie and portrait image quality, as well as enable 4K video recording at 40 FPS from the front camera.
The battery capacity remains unchanged at 5000mAh, but the charging speed has been upgraded from 45W to 50W. However, the charger is still not included in the box, and users will need to purchase it separately.
Design and Software
The Nothing Phone (2a) Plus maintains the iconic Glyph Interface design, featuring the same polycarbonate exterior as the Phone (2a). The only notable changes are the new color options: Grey and Black, and a silver chrome finish on the metallic strip.
On the software front, the device runs Nothing OS 2.6 based on Android 14, with a promise of three years of Android updates and four years of security patches. The company has also integrated ChatGPT and an AI News Reporter widget for a more personalized user experience.
