Nothing is set to unveil its upgraded mid-ranger, the Phone (2a) Plus, on July 31st. The anticipation surrounding this device has been palpable, especially after the successful launch of its predecessor. And now, we have a crucial piece of the puzzle: the chipset.

Dimensity 7350 Pro Takes the Reins

The upcoming Phone (2a) Plus will be powered by the MediaTek Dimensity 7350 Pro SoC. This marks a significant upgrade from the Dimensity 7200 Pro found in the standard Phone (2a). While both chips are built on TSMC’s efficient 4nm process, the 7350 Pro boasts higher clock speeds for its performance cores, promising improved overall performance.

What Sets the 7350 Pro Apart?

The core difference between the Dimensity 7350 Pro and its predecessor lies in the clock speed of its performance cores. The two Cortex-A715 cores on the 7350 Pro operate at a higher frequency compared to the 7200 Pro. This translates to potentially better performance in demanding tasks like gaming and multitasking.

However, it’s essential to note that Nothing has co-engineered the Dimensity 7350 Pro. This means the chip might have undergone optimizations tailored specifically for the Phone (2a) Plus. We can expect enhancements beyond raw performance, such as improved power efficiency or AI capabilities.

Beyond the Chipset

While the Dimensity 7350 Pro is undoubtedly a highlight, it’s not the only upgrade we can anticipate. The Phone (2a) Plus will also come equipped with a generous 12GB of RAM, ensuring smooth multitasking.

Design-wise, it’s unlikely that Nothing will make drastic changes so soon after the Phone (2a) launch. The focus seems to be on internal improvements rather than external alterations.

As for the pricing, we’ll have to wait for the official announcement. It’s reasonable to expect a slight premium over the Phone (2a) to justify the added features and performance.

What Do You Want to See?
