Samsung is spicing up its lock screen experience with One UI 8.5. The latest beta, now live for Galaxy S25 owners, introduces a redesigned YouTube card in Now Brief that swaps the old vertical list for a swipeable horizontal carousel. This means up to 10 video recommendations at a glance, each with a bigger, eye-catching thumbnail—perfect for discovering relevant clips without unlocking your phone.

Now Brief already serves as your daily dashboard, pulling in weather, calendar events, news, health stats, and AI-generated insights. The current YouTube integration feels cramped, showing just two videos in a vertical stack. The One UI 8.5 refresh changes that dramatically, making it easier to browse and tap into Samsung’s smarter, context-aware YouTube picks (especially after recent tweaks for better media recommendations alongside Spotify).

Not seeing YouTube in your Now Brief? Head to settings, tap “Content to include,” and toggle it on. The beta is exclusive to Galaxy S25 devices for now, built on Android 16 QPR2, but Samsung could expand it to Galaxy Z foldables and even last-gen flagships like the S24 soon.

Expect the stable One UI 8.5 rollout to kick off with the Galaxy S26 series early next year, hitting everything from high-end phones to mid-rangers and budget models. Alongside this visual upgrade, the update packs fresh Galaxy AI tricks and other polish.
