Samsung has expanded its foldable lineup with the launch of the Galaxy Z Flip7 and Galaxy Z Flip7 FE at its Galaxy Unpacked event in New York, bringing significant upgrades in design, display, AI features, and accessibility for foldable fans.
Galaxy Z Flip7: Bigger FlexWindow, Slimmer Design, and Enhanced AI
The Galaxy Z Flip7 debuts with Samsung’s largest and brightest FlexWindow yet—a 4.1-inch Super AMOLED cover display with ultra-thin bezels, 2,600 nits peak brightness, and a 120Hz refresh rate. This edge-to-edge screen enables users to send messages, check schedules, and take selfies without unfolding the phone. The main display is a 6.9-inch Dynamic AMOLED 2X panel, also supporting 120Hz refresh and Vision Booster for outdoor clarity.
Weighing just 188 grams and measuring 13.7mm folded, the Z Flip7 is the slimmest Flip model to date. Durability is enhanced by Corning Gorilla Glass Victus 2 on the cover and back, an Armor FlexHinge, and an Armor Aluminum Frame for added strength.
Under the hood, the Z Flip7 runs on a custom Exynos 2500 3nm processor with up to 12GB RAM and 512GB storage, and packs a 4,300mAh battery rated for up to 31 hours of video playback. For the first time, Samsung DeX is supported on a Flip device, turning the phone into a workstation when connected to a monitor.
AI and Software
The Z Flip7 leverages Galaxy AI for enhanced FlexWindow functionality, running One UI 8 on Android 16. Users can access personalized AI features, real-time app activity via the Now Bar, and Gemini Live for voice-activated searches and visual assistance—all from the cover screen. The phone also introduces advanced security with Knox Enhanced Encrypted Protection (KEEP) and post-quantum cryptography in Secure Wi-Fi.
Camera Upgrades
The Z Flip7 features a dual rear camera setup: a 50MP wide lens and a 12MP ultra-wide, with Nightography and 10-bit HDR for improved low-light and video performance. Selfies are easier than ever with Real-Time Filters, a new Zoom Slider, Dual Preview, and Portrait Studio on the FlexWindow.
Galaxy Z Flip7 FE: Foldable Experience for More Users
The new Galaxy Z Flip7 FE aims to bring foldable tech to a wider audience, with a 6.7-inch Dynamic AMOLED 2X main display and a 3.4-inch Super AMOLED cover screen. It is powered by the Exynos 2400 chip, 8GB RAM, and up to 256GB storage, with a 4,000mAh battery and 25W fast charging. The FE model features a 50MP FlexCam for hands-free photography in Flex Mode and Now Brief for cover screen updates.
