Samsung has officially launched the Galaxy A55 and A35 smartphones globally, offering powerful mid-range options with features inspired by their flagship counterparts.
Display and Design
Both phones boast a large 6.6-inch FHD+ (2340 x 1080 pixels) Super AMOLED Infinity-O HDR display with a smooth 120Hz refresh rate for a visually immersive experience. The A55 goes a step further with Corning Gorilla Glass Victus+ protection for enhanced scratch resistance, while both phones feature an in-display fingerprint sensor for secure unlocking.
Performance
The Galaxy A55 packs the latest Exynos 1480 SoC, promising a 15% performance boost compared to its predecessor. This improvement is attributed to an enhanced GPU and NPU, making the A55 well-suited for multitasking and demanding applications. Samsung highlights a 70% larger cooling system in the A55 compared to the A54, suggesting better thermal management during heavy use.
The Galaxy A35 utilizes the Exynos 1380 SoC, familiar from last year’s Galaxy A54. While not the newest chip, it should still deliver capable performance for everyday tasks. Both phones come with 6GB or 8GB of RAM and 128GB or 256GB of expandable storage via a micro SD card, providing ample space for apps, photos, and videos.
Cameras
The camera department offers a compelling setup. Both phones sport a 50MP main sensor with OIS (Optical Image Stabilization) for capturing sharp and steady photos, especially in low-light conditions. They also include a 5MP macro sensor for close-up shots. The key difference lies in the ultra-wide sensor: the A55 boasts a 12MP ultra-wide lens, ideal for capturing expansive landscapes or group photos, while the A35 features an 8MP ultra-wide option. The front-facing camera differentiates the two as well, with the A55 offering a higher resolution 32MP sensor for sharper selfies and video calls, compared to the A35’s 13MP front camera.
Software and Security
Out of the box, both phones run the latest Android 14 with Samsung’s One UI 6.1 on top. Samsung promises up to four generations of OS upgrades and five years of security updates, ensuring your phone stays protected and receives the latest features for years to come. Security features like Knox Vault offer an added layer of protection for your sensitive data. The phones also integrate camera innovations inspired by Samsung’s flagship line, such as Vision Booster for enhanced image quality.
Durability and Battery
The Galaxy A55 and A35 boast an IP67 rating for dust and water resistance, providing peace of mind against accidental splashes or spills. Both phones pack a decent 5000mAh battery, promising all-day use on a single charge. They support 25W fast charging, but unfortunately, a charger is not included in the box.

The Galaxy A55 comes in three colors: Awesome Navy, Awesome Lemon, and Awesome Ice Blue. The A35 adds an additional color option: Awesome White. Here’s a breakdown of the expected pricing (prices may vary depending on region):
