TECNO has officially unveiled its PHANTOM Ultimate G Fold Concept, a striking new entry in foldable smartphone innovation—and it’s grabbing headlines as the world’s thinnest tri-fold yet. With a profile of 11.49mm folded and a remarkable 3.49mm when unfolded, the device provides a slimmer build than not just the Galaxy Z Fold 6, but even rivals like the OPPO Find N5, HONOR Magic V5, and Huawei’s tri-fold Mate XT.
Dual Inward-Folding G-Style Design
Unlike earlier tri-fold concepts, the PHANTOM Ultimate G Fold uses a dual-hinge “G-style” structure: a small waterdrop hinge and a larger primary hinge. This inward-folding system achieves a perfectly gapless fold while fully protecting the expansive 9.94-inch display from scratches and impacts. When not in tablet mode, a second cover display offers the usability of a standard smartphone, enhancing everyday practicality.
The inner display opens up to near 10-inches with “minimal creasing,” giving you a genuinely tablet-like experience for movies, games, and productivity. Thanks to the hinge’s design, the phone also supports ‘multi-angle hovering,’ letting it stay partially folded—essentially working as a mini workstation.
Construction and Durability
TECNO emphasizes durability with its 2000 MPa ultra-high-strength steel hinge and Titan Fiber back cover (just 0.3mm thick), ensuring toughness even with the complex mechanics required for tri-folding.

Availability and Outlook
Currently, the PHANTOM Ultimate G Fold remains a concept device—not yet ready for commercial launch, but expected to draw further attention at major tech events like IFA in September and MWC 2026. The design represents a leap forward for flexible, ultra-slim foldables, raising expectations for future commercial models—especially as Samsung reportedly prepares its own inward-folding tri-fold rival.
By focusing on a thinner, more durable, and more versatile tri-fold architecture, TECNO is positioning itself as a serious innovator in the next generation of foldable phones.
