Vi (Vodafone Idea) has officially launched its 5G services in Mysuru, making it the second city in Karnataka after Bengaluru to experience Vi’s next-generation connectivity. The rollout, which began on July 11, 2025, is part of Vi’s broader strategy to expand 5G coverage across its 17 priority circles in India, following earlier launches in Mumbai, Delhi-NCR, Chandigarh, Patna, and Bengaluru.
Mysuru users with 5G-enabled devices can now access Vi’s high-speed 5G network. As an introductory offer, Vi is providing unlimited 5G data with plans starting at ₹299. Subscribers can enjoy enhanced experiences such as high-definition streaming, gaming, video conferencing, faster downloads, and real-time cloud access.
To ensure robust and efficient 5G connectivity in Mysuru, Vi has partnered with Samsung to deploy advanced, energy-efficient infrastructure and implemented AI-powered Self-Organizing Networks (SON) for automatic network optimization. The integration of high transmit power, multi-technology support, and small form-factor radios enables Vi to deliver green, energy-efficient solutions for seamless 5G experiences.
Alongside its 5G expansion, Vi has significantly upgraded its 4G network in Karnataka. Over the past 14 months, the company has:
- Deployed 900 MHz spectrum on more than 3,000 sites for improved indoor coverage
- Doubled 2100 MHz spectrum capacity across 1,900+ sites
- Added 2100 MHz spectrum on over 1,600 sites
- Enhanced 1800 MHz capacity at more than 4,400 sites
These upgrades have resulted in a 41% increase in network capacity across Karnataka, further strengthening Vi’s commitment to delivering superior connectivity and user experience in both urban and rural areas.
With the Mysuru launch, Vi continues to accelerate its 5G rollout, aiming to bring next-gen digital services to more customers across India.
