Xbox Game Pass Price Hike Comes with Expanded Game Libraries and Rewards

Microsoft has updated Xbox Game Pass with three new tiers: Essential, Premium, and Ultimate, each designed to fit different gaming styles on console, PC, and cloud. These changes bring a larger game library, unlimited cloud gaming, in-game benefits, and an improved Rewards program. However, prices have increased as well.

The Ultimate plan offers the biggest update and access to over 400 games, including 75+ new releases on day one each year like Call of Duty: Black Ops 7 and Ninja Gaiden 4. It adds Fortnite Crew starting November 18, Ubisoft+ Classics games like Assassin’s Creed IV, and access to EA Play. Cloud gaming now streams at 1440p with shorter wait times. Ultimate members can earn up to $100 annually in Rewards points and get up to 30% off select games.

Xbox Game Pass Premium

Premium subscribers get access to over 200 games across console, PC, and cloud, including popular titles like Minecraft, Diablo IV, and Grand Theft Auto V. This plan includes unlimited cloud gaming for select games and in-game benefits in titles like League of Legends. Rewards can earn users up to $50 annually.

Xbox Game Pass Essential

The Essential tier is an introduction to Game Pass with 50+ games such as Hades and Stardew Valley. It includes online multiplayer, unlimited cloud gaming for select games, and up to $25 annually in Rewards points.

United States Pricing

  • Xbox Game Pass Essential: $9.99/month
  • Xbox Game Pass Premium: $14.99/month
  • Xbox Game Pass Ultimate: $29.99/month (previously $19.99)
  • PC Game Pass: $16.49/month (previously $11.99)

India Pricing

  • Xbox Game Pass Essential: Rs. 99 (first month), then Rs. 499/month
  • Xbox Game Pass Premium: Rs. 99 (first 14 days), then Rs. 699/month
  • Xbox Game Pass Ultimate: Rs. 1,389/month (previously Rs. 829)
  • PC Game Pass: Rs. 939/month (previously Rs. 449)

Existing subscribers will be automatically moved to the new plans matching their current subscriptions. Microsoft says pricing may vary by region due to exchange rates and market factors.

This update gives players more choices and benefits but comes with higher prices for the premium offerings. It aims to deliver more games, more value, and better rewards for every type of gamer.
