Xiaomi has unveiled HyperOS, a operating system aimed at cutting-edge seamlessly connecting personal devices, cars, and smart home products. This innovative OS is built on five core pillars: System Level Optimization, Interconnectivity, Active Intelligence, Privacy & Security, and Open Platform, ensuring a comprehensive and efficient user experience.
Performance Enhancements of HyperOS
HyperOS brings significant performance improvements to devices. Leveraging the Open Source Xiaomi Vela platform, it delivers a 14% reduction in response delay, 17% in message delivery delay, and 16% in task switching delay. These optimizations not only enhance performance but also optimize power usage effectively, supported by Apache 2.0 technology.
The system’s accurate load evaluation allows for comprehensive analysis of thread relationships, leading to precise CPU load assessments. Users can expect faster experiences with reduced scheduling latency for critical tasks and improved I/O performance with almost zero attenuation. Also, HyperOS significantly reduces system storage requirements compared to the MIUI 14, offering enhanced efficiency with 9.14GB storage usage.
Personalization Features of HyperOS
HyperOS prioritizes personalization through its Alive Design Philosophy. It introduces a redesigned lock screen with multiple customization options and revamps the Control Centre for improved accessibility. The system font MiSans supports over 600 languages and offers diverse UI experiences for users. Additionally, the Floating Window feature allows for multitasking with multiple apps simultaneously, enhancing productivity on tablets.
Interconnectivity Capabilities
HyperOS enables seamless device connectivity through various features like Home screen+ for easy drag-and-drop between phone & tablet, Shared clipboard for effortless copy-paste across devices, and a Notes app that allows capturing photos on mobile and adding them directly into Xiaomi tablets’ notes.
New Features and Roll-out Timeline in India
Xiaomi has rolled out the HyperOS update to several devices in India already, including the Xiaomi 13 Pro, Pad 6, Redmi Note 13/12 Series. The company plans to extend this update to over 27 devices in India this summer. The list of devices eligible for the HyperOS update includes popular models like Xiaomi 11 Ultra, Xiaomi 11T Pro, Mi 10, and more
